Emeco a quality US company manufacturing in the USA. Specialising in quality aluminium furniture.
“MAKING THINGS THAT LAST”
The Origins of Emeco is founded on the making of aluminium chairs for the Navy in 1944. Producing for the government for a number of years, the contracts slowly began to run out and Emeco was left with the risk of having to close it’s doors.
The turning point in the 1990s saw the humble Navy chair become a iconic masterpiece.
Emeco creates what can be considered the greatest long-lasting chairs and tables in the world. With meticulous hand-craftsmanship, Emeco combines beauty and durability like no one else.
Emeco’s head quarters and production site are based in Hanover, Pennsylvania.
Witton C. Dinges, Emeco’s founder, with an engineering background, was a master tool and die maker . His Philosophy of a hands-on approach to production using outstanding materials would lead to outstanding design and outstanding furniture. It is a vision that has served Emeco well since 1944.
EMECO- Electric Machine and Equipment Company has a fascinating history full of many stories. However the most noted success is Emeco’s first major achievement, the Navy Chair- a chair designed in collaboration with ALCOA for seaworthiness.
Since then, it has expanded its offering but held closely to Dinges’ vision.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRIBUTUTION
The PET RANGE
EMECO is passionate about the environment and after 4 years of research and development working together with BASF have made considerable inroads into removing waste from landfills. Turning recycled PET bottles into something that can be made into something permanent.
Taking human waste and turning it into something that we can use for a long time. Removing waste, 1 PET bottle every 6 seconds.
Pledging to take 19million bottles out of potential landfill each year.
The idea of making something permanent and iconic caught the imagination of Coca Cola. Taking the principle of using PET bottles and instead of using it for land fill make it into a quality product.
CEO of Emeco, Gregg Buchbinder interviewed by Monday Morning Quarter Back, an American industry newspaper. Explaining how the idea of taking recycled material and making something permanent caught Coca-Cola’s fascination and how the up-cycle solution, the111 Navy Chair, became the first structural, long lasting item made of rPET.
