What a great book. This gives you info on everything American. From Coca Cola and Barbie Dolls etc etc. It’s really interesting because firstly, you may not have realised that something is actually American made/invented, and then with so many products in here, something is bound to capture your interest. It will tell you all about that product like the date it was invented, where, how etc. This is a really cool gift for someone, or just entertaining reading for yourself. I recommend this to any ‘history’ buff or just anyone in general.

WOW what an eye opening book. While the author got the idea of not buying anything from china right at Christmas, my awakening has come while packing to move. When I have discovered even the upscale items I had paid thru the nose for, from LL Bean, Smith and Hawkens, even Lenox items, all had Made in China on them.

I use the series in my college business classes. Not everything is made in China and it is important that they know that.

This book is a gem. Frank details how nationalism in the marketplace has been bought, sold and manipulated by interested parties over the course of American history. Yet her approach is even-handed, thought-provoking, and most importantly, solidly written with a stlye you just can’t put down. Her facts are meticulously referenced, and her storytelling entertaining. I highly recommend the text. Get it from the library if need be!
